An interline partnership between the United Arab Emirates Airways and Kenya Airways for the first time increases more available alternative travel options between Middle East countries and Africa

United Arab Emirates Airways has shared the latest announcement of an interline partnership between Kenya Airways and Emirates, which will expand more travel options for customers to access a new travel destination in a single itinerary.

Apart from more expanded travel options for the customers, the agreement also promises to provide smooth baggage check-in service at the destination.

 

“We are pleased to ink our first partnership with Kenya’s flag carrier. Kenya is a strategic gateway in our African network, and this new interline agreement will enhance connectivity for Emirates’ customers and provide them with more travel choices across the continent. We look forward to deepening our relationship with Kenya Airways, offering greater network opportunities, and improving connections for both of our customers”, said Adnan Kazim, the Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates.

 

Emirates passengers now can experience flying a total of 28 destinations linked on Kenya Airways. Customers can travel to the final destinations, Bangui, Namphula, Kigali, Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, Bujumbura, Dzaoudzi, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Juba, and many other places across Africa using Nairobi as the gateway. Additionally, the passengers can book a single scheduled ticket for both ways travelling via Dubai towards Mombasa, the most convenient and maximum visited place in Africa.

 

Equally, travelers flying through Nairobi and Mombasa with Kenya Airways will be capable of taking a connecting flight by Emirates from Dubai to 23 other destinations, Singapore, Tokyo, Bangkok, Ahmedabad, Beirut, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Seoul, etc across the West and South Asia, the Far East,  the Indian Ocean, and the Middle East.

 

Julius Thairu, the Chief Customer Officer of Kenya Airways added his view on this agreement. “This partnership will provide the ideal gateway for our customers as we seek to increase our connectivity between Africa and the Middle East through Emirates’ hub in Dubai.  Partnerships like these are key in aviation as they take advantage of mutual scale and efficiencies to provide customers with more seamless travel options”, he added.

 

All the tickets will be available on the Emirates official booking site, emirates.com, and other travel agencies including other largest travel agencies.

Emirates was the first agency to fly almost 5 million people throughout the year with 14 weekly flights linking between Nairobi and Dubai, starting back in 1995. Recently, Kenya Airways has started operating 4 weekly non-stop trips between Mombasa and Dubai. There are a total number of two gateways introduced, where travelers can directly connect t UAE from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, and the  Moi International Airport in Mombasa, the second chosen hub. Kenya Airways now operates 10 weekly flights, Boeing 787-800 and Deamliner 787-800.
