The greatest time of the year is just about to begin for all the bookworms as the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) announced its 42nd season starting from November 1, 2023. The whole new edition of the book fair will feature a series of popular authors, global influencers, movie celebs, and intellectual leaders, including best-selling authors and Nobel Prize laureates.

The Sharjah International Book Fair is going to start on November 1 and will go till November 12 at the Sharjah Expo Center. Let’s check out the popular author names from many different fields, who are going to light up the star-studded event.

Authors:

Wole Soyinka: 

There are many renowned authors who will grace the book fair with their appearance, including the Nigerian author Wole Soyinka, the very first African laureate who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature back in 1986.

Malcolm Timothy Gladwell:

Sharjah International Book Fair will also feature the participation of one great English-born Journalist, who is a Canadian speaker, and author at the same time,  Malcolm Timothy Gladwell. The first six written and published by the author made a place in The New York Times Bestseller List. He was also enlisted in  The Times’ list of 100 most influential people. His presence will be represented under the theme named ‘We Speak Books’.

Other authors such as Mohsin Hamid, a famous British-Pakistani writer, and novelist, who wrote the book ‘Exit West’, and Thomas Erikson, a famous best-selling Swedish author, and active lecturer. His written books have been translated into 60 other languages, and have recorded a sale of 7 million copies worldwide.

There will be present Vivian James Rigney, an Irish speaker, and writer, the author of  ‘Naked at The Knife-Edge’. His written book describes a gripping first-hand action of his summit at Mt. Everest.

Space, Economy, and Cinema

In addition to the star-studded author appearances, there will be other participants lined up including astronauts, experts in investments and personal developments, and actors.

Sunita Williams, an American astronaut and  US Navy officer, is globally known for her contribution to space science, and participation in her space journey to the International Space Station will share her worthy words during the event.

A highly praised Bollywood actress, and one of the biggest Indian actresses at the current time, Karina Kapoor Khan will be available at the Sharjah International Book Fair. The famous actress is known for authoring her famous book  ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible’.

Monika Halan, one of the respected Indian writers, in the field of finance, is equally a television personality, and speaker. The author will be offering advice related to the investment of money and money management.

The 42nd season of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) will be hosting a number of 2033 publishers from 108 global countries. The publishers will showcase and present titles of more than 1.5 million. The whole new edition of the book fair for this year will host over 1,700 activities and feature more than 215 guests from 69 different countries around the globe. Additionally, there will be a number of 460 cultural events presented by 127 Arab and non-Arab artists and renowned authors from 33 countries.
