MBZUAI Expanded the Computer Science Department with New Robotics
Abu Dhabi’s Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence has taken another further step to compete with the new-age science and has unveiled four new programmes related to Robotics and Computer Science due to the increasing popularity in recent times.
Computer Science and Robotics are likely to be the most demanding two programmes globally to return the maximum and large industry type with a higher profit of more than AED 500 AED500 billion ($136.1 billion) & AED800 billion ($217.8 billion) by the year 2030.
The expansion of both the department will get more support, as MBZUAI has also launched Master in PhD programmes in the field of CS and Robotics.
All the master’s courses under both departments going to be completed in two years of duration with a six-week long internship programme, and the PhD programme is a duration of 3 years with 3 months of internship. In all the programmes internships are compulsory as the fulfilment of the course. Which will not only give the learners theoretical knowledge but practical closures.
All the newly launched departments will complement the old and existing Machine Learning (ML), Computer Version (CV), and NLP (Natural Language Processing) departmental courses. These courses are ranked by the CSRanking under the top 20 courses globally.
The newly launched programmes are expected to open more opportunities for researchers, faculties, and post-doctoral candidates, as well as students who are willing to pursue Robotics and Computer Science.
“The addition of these two new departments represents MBZUAI’s lasting effort in developing a solid foundation for research excellence and innovation in artificial intelligence”, said Professor Eric Xing, President of Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.
He further added, “The university will continue to bring into Abu Dhabi world-leading faculty and researchers in the fields and to empower students to become pioneers with highly sought-after skills in developing advanced AI tools and applications across industries. Given the digital renaissance, we find ourselves in, skills in these disciplines are in high demand.”
The courses dedicated to the Robotics department will mainly focus on the key interest areas under Application, Robot Learning and Algorithms, like control theory, deep learning, human-robot interactions, agriculture and healthcare robotics.
Whereas the Computer Science department will help to explore and learn in-depth about foundational technologies, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
Both departments will level up the ongoing demand for technical knowledge and advanced computer learning skills in the United Arab Emirates and globally.
The expansion of these two departments is a very important part while moving towards the leading technical industry of AI. It will also help UAE to recognize as a global hub, and leader in AI, as compared to the other academic programmes in the country.
Robotics and Computer Science courses will trigger and attract the faculties, learners, and researchers to contribute to the future of the technical industry, and develop more AI tools, and applications under various industries globally.
