The world-renowned Peruvian chef Acurio opens his restaurant branch La Mar at the recently opened Atlantis The Royal luxury resort. The restaurant offers authentic Peruvian dishes including a wide range of seafood cuisines and comprehensive cocktail drinks.

The Atlantis Royal was open to the public with a grand event that featured a concert by singer Beyonce and the electronic music group Swedish House Mafia. The 43-storey luxury resort has 231 apartments, 693 rooms, and 102 suites with a view of the Arabian Sea and Palm Island. La Mar will be a cherry on top of what Atlantis has got to offer.

La Mar is located in the Mezzanine lobby of Atlantis The Royal. The restaurant will serve diverse and authentic Peruvian cuisine that shares the culinary treasures of Peru including Seafood cebiche, charcoal-cooked whole fish and the national drink of Peru called Pisco.

At La Mar, Visitors get to experience gastronomic, experimental Latin American cuisines that are intriguing like ceviche, Antiochus, grilled meats, sea foods and more. Although the restaurant heavily focuses on traditional Peruvian seafood that is sustainably sourced. As the officials of La Mar say “will be sustainably sourced to alleviate over-exploited fish species”.

Other than food La Mar also offers drinks and cocktails that are inspired by the traditional Pisco drink of Peru. The restaurant offers specialized cocktails like El Cholito and La Mezmarize among other options.

Gastón Acurio considered getting to open its new branch at Atlantis as an honour to connect with other renowned chefs “Dubai is perhaps one of the cities with the greatest gastronomic activity in the world. The best restaurants and the most renowned chefs can be found in Dubai sharing their proposals and concepts with cosmopolitan diners who value and enjoy gastronomy as an activity that unites people and cultures. In that sense, it is an honour to be present with a Peruvian culinary embassy and join the different Peruvian restaurants that today represent us in Dubai. I look forward to welcoming guests to La Mar and having them experience the true flavours of Peru.”

Gaston Acurio opened his first restaurant in 1994 and he was destined to take his country’s cuisine to global attention. Acurio was successful in achieving this goal and now he has around 50 restaurants around the globe. Acurio received the most prestigious award The Diners Club Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 2018.

When Gaston opens his new branch at Atlantis it will be a special addition to the attractions as the Executive Managing Director of Atlantis said “ “La Mar by Gastón Acurio will be a very special addition to not only Atlantis The Royal but the dining scene in Dubai. I am certain guests will embrace the opportunity to discover Peru through Acurio’s fresh ingredients and recipes, and we are equally proud to welcome a restaurant that operates with sustainability at its core. We look forward to Gastón Acurio joining the likes of Costas Spiliadis, Gordon Ramsay, Nobu Matsuhisa, Heston Blumenthal, José Andrés and Ariana Bundy, further enhancing Atlantis Dubai’s positioning as the culinary destination in the region.”
