Heavy Rainfall & Dusty Weather Expected in UAE
The United Arab Emirates is more likely to get rainy days on the path, as Sharjah and Dubai got heavily affected due to thunderstorms during weekends.
The NCM (National Center of Meteorology) predicted more wet and dusky days upcoming in a few parts of Fujairah, and Al Ain.
“Over the eastern and Western areas of the country” are most effectively going to witness heavy rainfall during Monday afternoon, as predicted by the weather bureau.
Due to a heavy powerful force that may get even stronger over time and carry more dust which can affect and ruin visibility. They have also predicted Dubai and Abu Dhabi may get a sunny Monday.
Different intensities can be visible in rainfall due to a lower pressure moving toward the west direction of the country through the East side, which will increase the chances of “thunder and lightning at times over some Eastern areas, Al Ain and South of Al Ain extending over some internal areas” according to a spokesperson of National Center of Meteorology.
The situation became worse on Saturday when the authority of Dubai received more than 100 emergency calls due to unstable weather scenarios. The powerful wind damaged many trees, they got fell down on the roads, and the roads became waterlogged.
Dubai witnessed heavy rain and the thunderstorm carrying more dust, a huge reduction of visibility experienced by the residents. On Sunday Dubai Municipality strictly prohibited any entry inside the public parks after 6 pm as an extra added precaution, saying “due to the prevailing weather conditions”.
The Dubai Municipality has posted through their official Twitter account, “DubaiMunicipality announces the temporary closure of Public Parks starting from 6 PM today, as a safety measure due to the prevailing weather conditions in Dubai. Stay safe.”
The authority of Dubai Municipality has also restricted visiting the beaches which provide night swimming and marked them as ‘temporarily closed’ after 7 pm Sunday.
The residents didn’t get any disclosure on the re-opening dates for the same yet.
The Municipality has confirmed the total number of fallen trees has increased to 69 whereas over 16 have caused disruption on the main roads.
Some areas in Sharjah also got affected heavily due to cloudbursts and strong winds, which damaged a few number of buildings from a selected area.
Many glass windows got collapsed and were crushed due to the gusty wind. Many outside business has witnessed huge damage and loss due to natural disaster.
Unlike Dubai Municipality, the Municipality of Sharjah also has closed the public parks from Saturday, though the green spots again reopened on Sunday itself.
The police in charge at Ras Al Khaimah have requested and asked the residents to avoid and keep a safe distance from the places that are more likely to get affected by the flood.
The police force has also informed that the Wadi Shawka dam has got filled to its maximum capacity after the continuous rain during the weekend.
Residents in Al Ain also faced the same difficulties after heavy rainfall on Friday.
