RTA Announces Free Parking in Dubai for Eid Al Fitr
Considering celebrating Eid in the most convenient way, the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) headquartered in Dubai has made a major announcement that the citizens of Dubai can enjoy free parking during Eid Al Fitr. RTA also announced the changes in the timings of the Dubai public transport, Vehicle Testing service providers and Customer happiness Centres. The official announcement of the exact date & time to begin the festival is yet to be heard which depends on the sighting of the crescent moon.
The free parking benefit applies from the 1st day to the third day of Eid. The exemption is not valid to 7-day paid parking zones. The 7-day paid parking zones can be located by checking the blue parking information boards.
Free Parking in Dubai
The free parking is applied in Dubai from 29 Ramadan to 3 Shawwal and it is not valid in multi-storey parking. Paid parking will resume from 4 Shawwal.
Public Transportation
Dubai Metro
The red line and green line of the metro will operate from 6 AM to 1 AM starting from Thursday April 20 to Saturday April 2022 and 8 AM to 1 AM on Sunday 8 AM to 1 AM.
Dubai Tram
The Trams of Dubai will operate from 6 AM to 1 AM starting from Thursday April 20 to Saturday April 2022. On Sunday April 23, Trams will operate from 9 AM to 1 AM.
Dubai Bus
The timings for the Dubai Metro’s feeder bus services will be the same as the timings of the metro.
Below are the intercity buses which will be in operation:
E100 and E101 to Abu Dhabi.
E16 to Hatta.
E700 to Fujairah.
E201 to Al Ain.
E303, E306, E307, E307A and E315 to Sharjah.
E400 and E411 to Ajman.
E102 to Al Mussafah.
RTA Centres
RTA Customers Happiness Centres will be shut from 29 Ramadan to 3 Shawwal over Eid holidays. Operations will resume on 4 shawwal with the usual timings.
The smart customer happiness centres located in Deira, Barsha, Umm Ramool, RTA’s Head Office, Al Kifaf, and Al Manara will operate 24/7.
Vehicle testing service providers will be shut from 29 Ramadan to 3 Shawwal over Eid. It will resume operations on 4 Shawwal.
Darb Toll Gate
Starting from Thursday, April 20, Darb toll gate will be free of charge and will resume its charges after the Eid break during the peak hours.
Ajman Inter-Emirate Public Buses
The timings for the Inter- Emirate public buses have been announced by the Transport Authority of Ajman. Below is the schedule.
Ajman to Umm Al Quwain – 7 AM to 10 PM.
Ajman to Sharjah – 6 AM to 12 AM.
Ajman to Abu Dhabi – 7 AM to 5.30 PM.
Ajman to Dubai International Airport Terminal 1 : 03:15 AM to 10:45 AM.
The UAE committee has made a request for those who spot the crescent moon to contact the official authorities on +97126921166 and shall be guided to the nearest court to make an official testimony.
For the federal and private sector employees in the UAE, the Eid Al-Fitr holiday starts from April 20. The employees are given an extended holiday until Shawwal 3 which might be on April 23 or April 24 depending on how many days (29 or 30 days) Ramadan lasts.
ITC has requested the citizens to park their vehicles only on the spaces designated and follow the regulation of the residential parking everyday between 9 PM & 8 AM.
On Thursday, April 20, all Muslims across the Gulf countries are called on by Saudi Arabia and the UAE to sight the crescent moon. Beginning on March 23, the holy month of Ramadan ends on the note of Eid Al-Fitr.
