The United Arab Emirates relaxed the fuel prices in 2015 allowing them to follow the ongoing price in the market. In 2020, the fuel price committee froze the fuel price during the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

The relaxation was removed in March 2021 once again, to reflect the trend of the market. The fuel prices, which surged by about $98 in September, are back on track after continuous monthly losses aiding the expectations of a tough basic market in the fourth quarter of the year.

However, the higher production of oil in Iran and the easing of the sanction process in Venezuela may ease some concerns in the supply process in the coming year.
