A Large Retail Marketplace has Opened in Dubai, the Bloom Market
Residents of Dubai now can consume fresh vegetables and fruits from direct sources to their tables. A widely spread indoor market spread over 66,000 square meters, opened by Dubai municipality. The Bloom Market is one of the largest indoor markets that is available in the region currently, located at Dubai Fruit and Vegetable Market in Al Aweer.
Mohammed Faraidooni, Director of Markets at Dubai Municipality said, “Bloom Market is one of Dubai Municipality’s key projects, which aims to provide access to fresh products directly from the source, especially since the market will have exclusively imported fruits that are not found in other markets, to establish itself as a distinctive shopping hub.”
The operation of Bloom Market is to deliver fresh products, like fruits and vegetables directly from the farms to the consumers.
“The market will complete the current fruits and vegetables market, it will not compete with the current market and vendors. The uniqueness about this market is that it will serve both business to consumers, as well as business to business customers,” he further added.
The product prices are going to be more convenient compared to other retail marketplaces.
“When you come here, unlike retail supermarkets you get a better rate as you are buying from the source directly, The price will be more competitive,” he said.
The price range of the products will be much more comparable to the local market of Al Aweer so that most of the residents will show interest and shop from Bloom Market. “We have asked traders to maintain their prices similar to the outside market so as to attract more customers,” further Mr. Mohammed Faraidooni added.
Bloom Market is a well-structured marketplace, that has two floors, and more than 760 booths allotted to different traders on the ground floor across 7,600 square meters, especially going to run the operation to sell locally grown products and imported fruits and vegetables. There is a parking area on the first floor, designed to park over 400 vehicles, and 270+ spots for trucks, whereas the second floor is the spot to introduce three different restaurants. A 5,500 sqm area is allowed for logistic services on the ground floor.
The large marketplace is offering many additional logistic facilities from the staff to the shoppers, including transferring and reloading a large number of purchased products to the buyer’s car, special assistance for shopping carts, parking inside the market, and other cleaning services. As a result, customers can enjoy a stress-free, convenient, and smooth shopping experience.
Expanded Services
The Dubai Municipality has confirmed more included services to line up and complete the Bloom Market project to deliver fresh fruits and veggies. The most important of all is the home delivery service. “We are thinking as Dubai Municipality to create an app to do delivery from this market to customers,” Faraidooni said.
In addition to the development and expansion of the market, he assured and said, “We have hired an international consultant who is studying the development and expansion of the current market, this market will get bigger. We will expand it to include dates, eggs, and poultry. We will expand the variety of items here.”
Since the inauguration of the Dubai Fruit and Vegetable Market, in 2003 the project has expanded and developed many times and added many extended services.
