United Arab Emirates has made an announcement regarding the dates of registration for those who are interested in taking part in the Islamic holy expedition of Haj in the coming year. The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments announced that the pilgrims will be able to register themselves for this religious journey between December 5 and December 21 through the official application.

In 2024, all the pilgrims will be welcomed by Saudi Arabia at the most holy sites in Islam in June. According to a previous statement made by a minister of Saudi Arabia, the first section of pilgrims will arrive by May 2024.

“The quota of pilgrims that can go to Haj is limited; therefore, it is wise to book in advance,” the government of the United Arab Emirates has announced on the official website.

The quotas of devotees are specified by Saudi Arabia to ensure a fulfilling journey throughout. The aim is to complete the journey by involving every devotee across the world can undertake this journey.

As a rule, the United Arab Emirates only issues permits to attend Haj for the Emiratis. Other pilgrims staying outside of the United Arab Emirates must follow and proceed through the quota structure and complete all procedures of their native countries.

The most common way chosen by the pilgrims to go on the pilgrimage is through the tour operators with a valid license. A list of trusted companies is also available on the official site of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. The tour operators will arrange different Haj packages that are included with complete take care of the cost of visa, transportation, hotels, and costing of food.

The annual holy expedition went back to its complete capacity of allowing devotees in the last year for the very first time since the sudden outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. There were more than 2 million pilgrims in 2023 straight up from 900,000 back in 2022 due to all the curbs related to the covid-19.

Haj is also known as one of the major five pillars of Islam. All believers of Islam need to undertake the holy expedition or pilgrimage at Makkah at least once in their entire lives only if they are physically and financially capable of completing the journey.

As per the announcement made by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the registration site of the United Arab Emirates for Haj 2024 is now available for worshipers. The announcement went live by the authorities on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

All the pilgrims are informed and reminded one more time by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (AWQAF) regarding the last date of registration. The process to complete the registration will be open for all until Thursday, December 21. The authority has equally informed all that it would be better if they book the slots in advance, as there are limitations in slots due to heavy demand.

Saudi Arabia is all set to welcome the devotees to the most visited and holiest site by June, in the coming year, whereas the first batch is expected to be reached by May.

To start with the registration for the slot, people need to install the latest version of the smart app of Awqaf UAE. In the following steps go through the mentioned steps in order.

  1. Install and open the application and tap on the option called the ‘Haj permit service’.
  2. Log in to the site using your UAE Pass or digital ID.
  3. Soon after you are successfully logged in to the site, a registration icon will appear on the screen, along with a series of following steps.
  4. Click on the ‘register’ icon and follow the further procedures.
  5. Ensure that all the information and personal details you have entered are accurate and match the official documents.
  6. Usually, the governments of the United Arab Emirates issue Haj permits only for the Emiratis. Hence the expatriates must have to go through the quota process and complete all the procedures of their home countries.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, KSA also announced on Monday, December 4, that the site will complete registrations for visitors from America, Europe, and Australia for the holy season of Haj 1445 AH/2024.

The Ministry of Haj and Umrah declared that those who desire to attend Haj in the coming year can register themselves through the Nusuk platform. The ministry has officially announced that on X, formerly Twitter.

Nusuk is the platform to plan and book Haj launched in 2022 by the Minister of Haj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah. The booking site, Nusuk aims to book the journey and facilitate the pilgrims without seeking any external help from the Foreign agencies.

Steps to register yourself for Haj 2024 using Nusuk

  • Visit the official site of Nusuk Haj and click on ‘Create account’ to start
  • In the following steps, select the holding nationality and the residential country from the given drop-down list. 
  • To complete this step, you must ensure that you belong to that country as a valid citizen or a citizen of countries eligible to attend Haj
  • Mention your full name
  • Enter your accurate ‘Date of Birth’
  • Select your gender
  • Enter a valid mobile number and email address
  • Create a password based on your choice
  • In the next step, click on the section to agree to all the terms and conditions and complete registering yourself by clicking on the register button
  • Once you are successfully registered, you will receive a confirmation email including all the updates about Haj 2023.

Visas will be issued for Haj 2024 from March 1 to April 29, 2024. The process is most likely to start by the middle of June. In 2023, the holy expedition to Makkah attracted over 1.8 million devotees and made the record number since pandemic of the COVID-19.
