Lulu Group opened a branch at the Dubai Mall on October 9 (Monday). The newly launched branch is spread over 72,000 sqft of space to cater to millions of visitors, making its largest in-mall hypermarket of the Lulu Group.

The mart mainly focuses on groceries, fresh food, fruits and vegetables, bakery, health and beauty, stationery, household, IT products, and fresh flowers, among others. With the new outlet, the Lulu Group’s store count has increased to 24 in Dubai.

“We are extremely happy and excited to join hands with Emaar to open our newest hypermarket at The Dubai Mall, which is the world’s biggest and most prestigious shopping and leisure destination, welcoming over 100 million visitors every year from around the world,” said Yusuffali, the chairman of Lulu Group. 

“It is our constant endeavour to innovate and offer world-class shopping experience to the large multi-national population residing and visiting Dubai,” he said.

He also added that there has been a growing demand for internationally sourced products. “It will be our continuous commitment to offer high-quality products at the most affordable prices in the market,” he added.

In the presence of Yusuff Ali MA, chairman of Lulu Group, Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, inaugurated the hypermarket in Dubai. The newly launched store brings the option to opt for self-check-outs.

The retail major has been expanding their business within the Gulf region, India, and other markets.  Earlier this month,  they unveiled their 15th Hypermarket in Kuwait inaugurated by Dr. Ali Merdhi Ayyash Alenezi, in the presence of Yusuff Ali MA Chairman of Lulu Group, Mariam Ismayil Jumaah Al ansari, and other officials.

Last month, the retail giant opened its 10th hypermarket in Bahrain and also launched a new hypermarket and mall in Hyderabad. The latter is the first venture of the Lulu Group in Telangana. With an investment of Rs. 300 crore, Lulu Mall Hyderabad brings an international shopping experience to the Telangana people and will likely generate employment for more than 2,000 personnel.

The mall also offers ample parking for 1000 cars and 900 bikes. With 100 plus national and international brands in severeal categories spread across six floors including, Starbucks, GAP, Levis, Puma, Tissot, Nykaa on Trend, Avantra, Toni n Guy, and many more.  Lulu Mall Hyderabad aims to deliver the best in choice and class to its varied patrons.

Alongside, the Lulu Group also expanded its global sourcing operations with new centres in Italy and Poland. They are said to focusing on a new range of products such as healthy and diet categories.

The demand for retail has skyrocketed lately. According to a study released by Majid Al Futtaim, there was a notable 13 percent growth in spending across the retail economy for the full year, including leisure and entertainment (29 percent), fashion (25 percent), hypermarkets and supermarkets (11 percent) and general retail (9 percent).
