Citizens of 82 different countries around the globe are not eligible to step into the United Arab Emirates by validating their visa on arrival. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE has declared that citizens from the allowed countries are eligible to travel without a prior visa. The ministry has also asked all the travellers to visit the official website of MoFA, UAE (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) while searching for valid and detailed information.

When 82 world countries are now ready to serve with a visa on arrival by the UAE government, the other citizens of 115 countries are still required to carry a valid visa validated before travelling to the United Arab Emirates.

A detailed list of the eligible countries, with other essential details required for a dispensation for those travellers who hold a regular passport can be accessed through the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE.

One, who is seeking more detailed clarification in terms of validation of visa can visit the official site of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security. Additionally, travellers are requested to get in touch with the respective airline companies for more additional supplementary information.

The UAE DGov, or UAE Digital Government further explained that the citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries do not require any visa or an added sponsor to visit the United Arab Emirates. By placing a valid ordinary passport at the arrival gate visitors can enter the UAE. Citizens can either show their regular passports at every UAE entrance port, issued by any country belonging to the GCC, or their ID card.

Based on the origin country an entry visa will be issued for 30 days with 10 days of additional grace period, or 90 days.

The citizens of the Republic of India with their ordinary passport which is valid for the next six months from their arrival date, and some additional criteria, such as a US visit Visa, a green card or a Resident card, a residential visa from the UK and EU countries, which is valid for at least 6 months, are eligible to get a visa validity for 14 days at the entry, and the validity can be extended for 14 days more in case required. 

The UAE DGov, or Digital Government has clarified that those citizens who do not come under the visa-on-arrival or exemption of visa categories must have to hold a valid prior entry permit. The permit which is the major dependent for entry must be authorised by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs before their entry into the UAE.
